Description

[best viewed full sized] This is the second picture of a mini series shot at Ingleton Waterfalls, North Yorkshire, two weeks ago and is the Baxenghyll Gorge of the River Doe. The famous Waterfalls Trail has some of the most spectacular waterfall and woodland scenery in the North of England. The trail is 4.5 miles/8 kilometres through ancient oak woodland and magnificent Dales scenery via a series of spectacular waterfalls and geological features. With rare and interesting plants and animals and its importance as a geological site much of the Waterfalls Trail has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) by Natural England. This long exposure capture was also taken using a neautral density filter, polariser and tripod. I have boosted the colours and saturation a little as well as a slight alteration of levels and dodge and burn in photoshop. The colours in the water are natural caused by the high mineral content. Thanks for looking and any comments and critique are, as always, more than welcome and valued! Carl.

Oh Carl - this is a magnificent image! It is perfect in every way. Well done indeed! This is one part of the world that I still wish to explore. I have been to England and Scotland, but for business. I didn't get too much touristy stuff done! One day when I'm all grown up.... :))

in my dreams the waterfalls are like this one... secluded with lush vegetation and mist instead of water. beautiful pic Carl.

I'm so sorry I missed your upload Carl... I've not really been around the galleries for a while but this is a spectacular shot with the very long exposure you have used to get the water looking so good! I get a sense of vertigo whilst looking at this shot as your POV is brilliant - it really makes me feel like I am actually there looking down into the gorge. A great shot all round hun. Hugs xxx
