Description

One of the otters from the the New Zoo in Suamico. I love otters. I still want one. This trip was on Mother's day when Dave and Ryan took his mom and I to the Zoo. I came home with an otter, A stuffed animal from the souvenir shop at the Zoo. Just a quick post tonight. I am so tired today. I have caught a cold and am going to just get some rest. Have a great night. Thank you for stopping by and taking a look. Thank you for all the comments and favs on my previous post. I love reading what you all leave. It's the highlight of my evening. Much love and peace, Cheri

I know a little something about otters as there was a pond nearby where I lived as a kid that had a few. Pretty tame and we could get close and feed them and sometimes even touch them. But they were not what you would call cuddly. They are fun to observe in the wild but not sure if they housebreak well -er but they probably do house break well as they always seem to be into stuff. Even worse than cats. :O)

I think otters are the coolest creatures around and so very intelligent! Nice shot!

This was interesting, I've never seen an otter do this before, much like a squirrel, hopping about and then just stop and bury its nose in the ground. I realize that the squirrels are often looking for buried nuts and such, but what the heck is the otter looking for? Perhaps with them it's more of a canine thing, "Hey,...Petey was here,....and here,.......and over here." I love these guys!!! Cool shot sweetie!!

Exactly what I say when looking for my reading glasses and television remote. An otter on dry land? I thought they were found only in the water. Must be related to the seal. Anyway, fine lighting and textures in this splendid shot of the playful little guy, Cheri! And, take good care of yourself, young lady.

As with all memembers of the weasel family these are fascinating animals for sure. Much more sociable than the other members of the gang. You caught a real great moment here. Take care Cheri. Hugs.

This is a real otter, right? He almost looks like a stuffed otter in your own backyard. One way or the other, glad you had such a nice trip...sleep well:)

I've seen otters at play off the coast. The abalone divers and sport fishermen don't care much for them but I love watching them laze and play in the swells. Cute guy you captured here.

They were once hunted for their fur. I wonder about someone who could do that just for the money. Great capture. With their whiskers and facial marking they always looked like old men to me. Take something warm to drink and get covered up and warm.

Like you, I like otters quite a lot; I'd also love at least a duo of them as pets. One just isn't enough, and besides they're just smart enough to get lonely and pine for other otterish company. I love the light in this, and it's particularly warming since it's so cold and grotty in Chicago! Ugh...but anyway I'm rambling as I tend to do, so I'm going to cut this short and just say that this is a fantastic photo, and it makes me wish I was there, snapping pictures of this little guy, but it's really good that you did.

Great shot! Lovely light on his fur! Otters are so much fun to watch, though I've only seen them in zoos. Hope you are feeling better. Take plenty of Vitamin C.
