Description

These two girls were in the process of securing their bikes to the fence. They obviously talked about how best to do it as they changed the position of the bikes several times. As I walked by I mentioned in passing that it would probably be a good idea to remove the seat, because often the seat is stolen. They both gave me dirty looks and I probably ruined their day. I don't know if they followed my advise because I didn't stick around. This picture was taken on 7 June 2009. Thank you for viewing, commenting, and favs, Sig...

great photo!!! Here in Padova there is a very big market of stolen bikes. This market has usually been very florid, but now is even better. Stolen bikes are often used by pushers or pickpockets as well as university students. If someone steals your bike, it's easier and faster buying one (somethimes just your own like) at the Thieves Market than trying to get it back through the police.

Nice capture but sad commentary on the human condition. Yeah, I know, been that way for a long time but still every time I think about it, I wonder why...why does society tolerate anti social behavior? I guess there is money to be made in selling bike locks - and bolt cutters.

Some will only learn by repeating history! Nice photo! It looks like they are just locking them together instead of to the fence, so perhaps they were both taken.
