Computer geek extarodinaire, I love to tinker with gadgets and tech items to get them to do what I want. I'm either logically artistic or artisically logical. I'm also rude, crude, semi-barbaric, socially unacceptable, and totally psychotic. On the bright side - I am potentially harmless. I'm currently trying to write some short stories about the fae as well as a novel on those same fae as well as two other novels. The programs I have for photo and image editing are: Photoimpact from Ulead, Adobe Photoshop 7 and Corel Paint Shop Pro 2X. Recently I've added DAZ Studios as well as Terragen, Blender and Google Sketch to my list of programs crowding my hard-drive.  All this and much more on an old Pentium III 450 with 396 Megs of memory and operating Windows XP. It does get interesting at time.As of December 26, 2008, I have added Vue 7 Pioneer to my list of reason of why I'm going insane.
As of January 2010 I upgraded to a new HP 2 dual core processor with 6 gigs onboard mem with 4 gig powerboost and 2.07 terabytes of Hard drivesMy email is faemike55@gmail.com

Good luck on quitting Mike!! I know how hard it is!! I quit nearly 6 years ago but did use the nicotine inhalators the first month or so to help me through it.

congratulations!!!! problem arises at work!! My boyfriend tried several times to stop smoking but he has to have cigarettes in his pockets for his clients, so he's unable to really stop.

YAY!!!!!!! Fabulous, Mike! Its better after 3 days. A little better after 3 weeks & in 3 months, it will just be an irritation. December 1st will be a year for me after 40 years of smoking. Life is sooooo much better & I don't have to keep rocks in my pockets any more. I now weigh 115. That's a hefty jump from what I was. Hey, that's almost as much as my Rottweiler! Lmao! Good luck, buddy. PM me if you need to rant. Hugz ")

I have been smoke-free for almost 4 weeks now. My doctor transfered me to the e-cigarette because without the nicotine I became suicidal. I smoked for 44 years starting at the age of 12 and my brain couldn't not function without the nicotine. But I am not considered a non-smoker since I inhale a slight mist of nicotine a few times a day. My lungs no longer ache (I have a lung disease) and it costs me only 1/5th the money for a "pack" each day. My daughter, seeing me quit, stopped smoking as well and has been off cigarettes all together for a week now. I'm proud of her since she has smoked for 17 years. Good luck to you and if you stumble, don't beat yourself up. Just keep trying. I tried to quit for 6 years - too many times to count and failed each time until this time. It can be done. Great parting shot, BTW.

You can do it! I stopped for my millenium project after 40 years of 30 a day. I bought new swimsuits, books about nature, plants, a wetsuit, perfumes, shoes, .........oh, yes, a digi camera.

Best of luck with this. I have tried many times and end up smoking again. My best effort was 1 year without as much as a drag, but i some how ended up a smoker again.

Good luck with stopping

I stopped 20 yeras ago after 20 years of smoking. My secret? stopping with half packet full, so one doesn't get crazy because one hasn't cigarettes at home. I never collapsed and after some years I threw the half packet away.

Congratulations my friend and wish you sucess! I keep telling myself I'm going to quit, but so far, I haven't done it. Someday, hopefully before I have a heart attack or stroke. Hang in there, I know you'll do great! Excellent statment in this image.

Mike, the hardest thing I ever did was kick that habit. That was over 20 years ago with probably 30 years of smoking before that. I was pretty much a two pack a day smoker. After quite a few starts and stops over a year's time, I finally quit cold turkey. I quit for Lent, and told myself I could have a cigarette after lent. I lied to myself, LOL, because after Lent, I decided I could go for one more week, and then another and another, and now 20+ yrs later, I don't think about it though I have had some awfully vivid dreams! I'm doggone proud of you, just don't beat yourself up if you slip, get up and start again, that's all. You can do it Mike!!
