Description

Fear to close my eyes My blood contains pins Stomache's inside out 'Nother night begins ---***--- All hope, invisible Pours out of my eyes Night cannot comfort My sanity dies ---***--- Bigger than needles They stick into me Sharp, dark and evil I'd rather not see ---***--- Grinning, the doctors Say all will be fine Away with some bone To better define ---***--- Come, sunlight, warm me Breeze, blow me away Remove this madness Gently sleep, I pray ---***--- Life's dreamland pleasures Turned into a curse I'm shaking in fear The waiting's far worse For some who have had hydro- and oxyodone as post-operation painkillers, an unexpected psychotic reaction can occur. This might happen even if the patient had those medicines before. It is something we all should be aware of. As you see, the patient (the subject of the poem) is blind-sided by the sudden and tragic. Gothic content: hopelessness, fear, and doom. Verses and photograph &copy 2009 Allen P. Mixson Thank you for stopping by, and especially for any comments you should leave. I wish you the Joy of the Day.

Is that a red twig willow? It looks like the ones we have by our front drive. Very nice!
