My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I wondered what this would be, given the bot title... ... a darter on its nest with an egg...? Nah...! Ho humm, back the the thinking board! Well seen! Clive

Wow that looks good Tara. Reminds me of something ancient, like an Egyptian sarcophagus or, like a gold ingot. In any cases, it looks really nice.

Now, my first thought upon seeing your title was Early American Pattern Glass. I have a collection of EAPG here and Egg and Dart is one of at least 1,000 patterns produced between the late 19th century and mid 20th century. Only problem is my glass is clear and extremely difficult to photograph. Your Egg and Dart appears to be marble. Lighting and color really makes this stand out! Haven't heard from Mark for awhile...did you guys wear him out:-)

LOL, poor Mark, he really did have that look more than once. "You're taking a foto of THAT????". Had no idea about egg and dart--but it sure is gorgeous stuff!!

I was thinking that someone set up an egg and was throwing darts at it.... interesting art work!

Tara you crack me up with these words..lol. Like the narrow crop and a wonderful warm tone.

Many years ago I spent two years as a property appraiser for Los Angeles County. The wonderful thing about the job was to learn and appreciate the various types of architectural styles. I quickly grew to love the older buildings for their beauty and the care with which they were built. This is gorgeous and well photographed. The lighting makes it look like ivory.

OH WOW ! This is GORGEOUS Tara. I love it, as I have always had something with stucco ornaments, or what you call these things. And it has an incredible beautiful color too. I am sure Mark was thrilled of this too. :)

Egg and Dart...who'd have thunk it? Well, someone did. I love the lighting and details of this. It's so rich and warm, and incredibly...well...incredible. There are so many details in the world, so many things to see, and I shudder to think how much I miss...such as Egg and Dart art...or would that be Egg d'art? Am I making sense? Why am I making this comment at 3:15 am while listening to Bela Bartok, when I should be asleep? Oh well...I'm glad I'm seeing it now! I love the rich, buttery golden tones of this and the details are picked out wonderfully! This is super work. True egg d'art which I now christen as a new genre.

Excellent shot! :)

Seven eggs make this a prime number and as such it adds magic to your story as every prime number has the power to do.

lovely detail shot

I was expecting a pub! eg 'The Pig and Whistle', The Goat and Tricycle', etc ad nauseum. Your image is FAR more elegant and I like the rich tones. And I've learned something else new today!
MrsLubner
stunning detail captured. Not often does anyone stop to really look at such things. I know I do but then, I am always looking for the simple details on the buildings downtown. Excellent lighting.

lol..but it is a terrific shot ...love the coloring!!

This is a stellar capture Tara and because of the flash, the texture of the marble is enhanced. Imagine that this was most likely hand carved. Great eye and share. Dana

LOL, cool shot. I don't think he would think that. He was most likely wondering how much of it you were going to post.
