Description

And here we have the remodeling process. The first image is what I saw when I came home the first day, on May 18th! Next ... what they found when they took out the old tub. Do you see the hole in the concrete floor? It's not supposed to be like that. Guess where the ants were coming from? And under the old tub, instead of grout, they had put all the old wallboard from the last remodel. Yummy ant food and loads of access, right there! The plumbing wall where the tub faucets were needed to be replaced. Fortunately that wasn't a big job. The hole got filled properly with concrete and the new tub is seated in grout, all just as it should be! The third shot is pretty much what my bathroom looked like the weekend Sig came up to visit! Good thing he was staying in a hotel, because my place was in NO shape for company! There wasn't even a bathroom door at that point. And see the picture on the bottom row, second from the left? That's what my living room looked like the weekend Sig was in town. It's a lovely look for first-time company, isn't it? Good news as things progressed: The dryer vent didn't have to go through the room. They were able to put it between the joists and hide it in the ceiling. When they opened up the wall and all the secrets were revealed, they discovered that the vanity had been on the left-hand wall to begin with (which was where we had planned on putting the new one) and they didn't have to do any plumbing modifications. Everything was all there! The window let in SO much light. What an improvement! There was no dry rot anywhere. The only damage had been in that little plumbing wall. Last image: Ken and Trent, very near the end of the process. Except for minor issues like drawer hardware, they were done around June 14th. ZOOM for details

When I was a freshman in high school my best friend accidently broke a window in my parent's kitchen. They replaced it for $2 and for the next four years my friend would come over on a regular basis to help my mother with chores. He seemed to enjoy it but my mother took to calling him her $2 slave. Everyone should have a $2 slave. Yours look like they know what they are doing.

Ooh, the "during Process" is quite intriguing. It has a very rough look, as "in-progress" stuff does. It's always amazing when I start to clean...the place always looks worse than it did when I start the task! There's wonderful moodiness to these shots that I like. Wonderful work. And leave it to me to notice: Trent's a cutie. (Just don't tell Victor I said so.)

OH WOW! What a mess it must have been, but it was all worth it, as your bathroom is gorgeous now... I wish it was mine :-)))

Very interesting images and descriptions. Great to have such experts doing the work. At least when your home was a bit of a mess you had a massively valid excuse for it. :o)
