BIO I'm an illustrator, and for the last 15 years I have been doing almost exclusively digital work--mostly covers for e-books and small presses; fantasy, SF and Paranormal Romance covers are my specialty. I use Poser, Photoshop and Painter, and a nifty little paint program called ArtRage. I have been lucky enough to have work shown on the BBC's The Sky at Night, done promotional artwork for the Hugos, and have digital art tutorials published in Michael Burn's Femme Digitale and Digital SciFi Art (Watson-Guptill 2004) as well as DVD covers, cd covers and e-book covers, most recently for Liquid Silver Books, Edge/Tesseract and Dragon Moon Press. I'm also a member of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. . When I have time, I do acrylic paintings for fun.
Commissions: I do 3d texturing and backgrounds now rather than book covers, and I do appreciate a good UV template to work on. Thanks for checking out my bio!

A really cool image. Love the watercolor style to this. Fabulous pov and composition. Way cool beastie fish in the water. Great job painting the hair. :) Love the story with this. Ok - what's with the beetle bug on his back? Did I miss something? Should I be concerned?

i love this image, but hate, hate, hate that the bug is crawling on him while he's distracted! it gives me the creepy-crawlies just to look at this image. there's so much detail in this one, i wish we could see it larger and in more detail. i always thought those insets people posted to CG Society were for showing technique, but now i realize what a boon they are for viewers. i'd love to see more of that fish, and of the forest. the fish looks like it's scales are reptilian rather than piscean, is that on purpose? it's an awesome creature. and i actually think the hair was worth it, because it looks really good. the "rusty remains" weren't identifiable as such to me because they lack defining shadows and because they look splintered. while the former could be an artistic issue, i'm wondering about the story behind the latter. oh, and the leaves in the lower right corner are a very nice touch. they sort of balance the composition, and connect the background with the foreground.

If you are after a painted style you may want to turn off "Visible in raytracing" for the hair - this should speed up your render. But however: The painted hair looks awesome and I am amzaed by the look and feel of this image. Something about it reminds me on pastel chalk, there's a typical kind of softness about it.

The POV is excellent, and I like the hand painted hair, it blents the character in with the backdrop very well
