Description

Sometimes pictures come to you and all you have to do is point your camera. Yesterday I was sitting in my car in the middle of a grocery store parking lot listening to the radio. Exciting right? Most such lots are a little trashy until nightime when the cars are gone and the clean up crew does its' job. So, I wasn't expecting to find a postable image there. Just then a rather scarred-up sparrow landed on an abandoned grocery cart 10-12 feet from me. I just happened to have my camera on the seat next to me and here you are...taken with a 200mm setting and a higher than needed ISO setting. Since the bird was a bit rough looking I added a "Dry Brush" filter to give him that "Paint-by-the-Numbers" appearance. Sometimes a filter does improve upon reality:-) Bill:)

Okay, this is what I was talking about! The whole thing, with only enough space to give the piece a sense of composition. And regardless of the reson for using the filters, when it comes to applying them, you ROCK! I knew this was yours when I saw the thumb, without seeing the artist's name. This is really excellent work, and I'm particularly glad to see it, since you have demonstrated everything I said yesterday! LOL! Now I'll go answer your email. :D

He was sitting there thinking......."Did I bring my shopping list??? Let's see, I need some bird seed, bread crumbs, and oh yes I wonder if they have live bait here I could use some nice night crawlers." LOL. Great capture.

Oh I wish that I could remember to take my camera with me if ever I go out, which isn't often I know, but I just never have it ready. You did a great job here, for the poor little sparrow who just wanted you to take his photo, well done, hugs Jane xx

Excellent capture and postwork considering the inappropriate conditions, Bill. How high was your ISO setting?

What a little beauty! So glad you had your camera next to you... it's those "seemingly boring" moments in our lives that bring us such joy, simply by being able to look around us, and notice what shows itself to us. Lovely texture and scene! Most sweet image!
