Sometimes pictures come to you and all you have to do is point your camera.
Yesterday I was sitting in my car in the middle of a grocery store parking lot listening to the radio. Exciting right? Most such lots are a little trashy until nightime when the cars are gone and the clean up crew does its' job. So, I wasn't expecting to find a postable image there.
Just then a rather scarred-up sparrow landed on an abandoned grocery cart 10-12 feet from me. I just happened to have my camera on the seat next to me and here you are...taken with a 200mm setting and a higher than needed ISO setting.
Since the bird was a bit rough looking I added a "Dry Brush" filter to give him that "Paint-by-the-Numbers" appearance. Sometimes a filter does improve upon reality:-)

Okay, this is what I was talking about! The whole thing, with only enough space to give the piece a sense of composition. And regardless of the reson for using the filters, when it comes to applying them, you ROCK! I knew this was yours when I saw the thumb, without seeing the artist's name. This is really excellent work, and I'm particularly glad to see it, since you have demonstrated everything I said yesterday! LOL! Now I'll go answer your email. :D

What a little beauty! So glad you had your camera next to you... it's those "seemingly boring" moments in our lives that bring us such joy, simply by being able to look around us, and notice what shows itself to us. Lovely texture and scene! Most sweet image!
