Description

Sometimes pictures come to you and all you have to do is point your camera. Yesterday I was sitting in my car in the middle of a grocery store parking lot listening to the radio. Exciting right? Most such lots are a little trashy until nightime when the cars are gone and the clean up crew does its' job. So, I wasn't expecting to find a postable image there. Just then a rather scarred-up sparrow landed on an abandoned grocery cart 10-12 feet from me. I just happened to have my camera on the seat next to me and here you are...taken with a 200mm setting and a higher than needed ISO setting. Since the bird was a bit rough looking I added a "Dry Brush" filter to give him that "Paint-by-the-Numbers" appearance. Sometimes a filter does improve upon reality:-) Bill:)

I agree with Andrea...this is perfection. Funny thing about sparrows: I think they know that they're evolved from dinosaurs! They give you that look as if to say: "Don't mess with me, I'll peck your ankles." Wonderful work. The postwork adds a different sort of organic-ness to the image and it does look either like something painted, or something done in ceramics. Wonderful work!
