My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Good one. A B&W in low light. And you are following precedent...you went in September...I went in June and am still digging around in my Chicago files:) This pic tonight is special for another reason...this is the original architectural design of McDs dating back to store #1 in Des Plaines, Illinois, April 1955. A fun digi-fiddle.

This takes me back. I can remember when the signs they used to have said '1000's served'. Wonderful post work.

You even manage to make McDonalds look attractive...you have achieved the impossible! (But I still wouldn't put what they sell near my face.)

Excellent shot and postwork! Looks like the old McDonald's from back in the late 1950s to early 1960s when I was little. But they weren't three stories high. Wow! :D

In your face and fun, like Rock-n-Roll. Love the motion of the cars and the strong contrast between bright lights and dark night. Great effects!

WOW! I remember Corey and I standing there, amazed that they'd changed the place! Shows how often we get to that part of downtown. What I notice is the fact that for all of its updating and expansion, it DOES recall the shape of the classic McDonalds, especially the very first McDonald's ever. It's in Des Plains and serves as a museum, what's funny about it is the fact that it's across the street from...well...from McDonalds. The post work is fantastic here. It really makes this place look authentic, which I guess is what the architects had in mind...but you've gone one step beyond that and brought back some of the giddy fun that McDonald's used to represent, way back in a more innocent, less media-saturated age. Wonderful work! I love it.

FREAKY! When I first saw this in thumbnail I thought it was a sci-fi space ship. And even after I figured out what it was it STILL looked like a sci-fi space ship. Was Ray Krock from outerspace? Spreading his world conquering seed-pods all over the place and turning the Human race into willing slaves jonsing for ever more " special sauce " ? Have you ever tried to get a McDonald's employee to tell you what the EXACT ingredients are in " special sauce "? Hmmmmmmmmm. Makes one wonder. But I digress... This is a wonderful shot, compelling and other-worldly. The b&w is a nice touch and as Chip says adds to the general aura of original authenticity. There's a nice drama as well that reminds me of nocturnal shots of New York City in the Fifties, or something in the background in an episode of Naked City. Wonderful work. And what's wrong with vacation pix? I made so many shots while you guys were visiting that at the rate I'm presently posting, they'll probably be strung through other posts until at least 2015. Great work.
