Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The moment of capture you found that long, pointed head in the perfect place. Fabulous work.

Clarity, color blends, contrast, reflections and light/shadow effects beyond spectacular in this excellent ninja foto, Maz! The birdie never knew what hit him until it was too late.

Hehe... you certainly did! Such a great image! Wonderful reflection; he seems to be intrigued by it, himself... excellent lighting!

Oh Wow! Is this your famous nemisis? I've heard of him...and I have to say that he's quite striking and rather elegant...and thin like a supermodel, which he probably is, which explains why he's so hard to capture. But you caught him and you did so perfectly. That water does look a bit deeper than I'd originally have thought, and his reflection is so well done! You have such a good eye. And just so you know, I have a nemesis too...a little four legged critter who'd be dead meat if I had a cat. (A mouse has moved in with me, and I want to catch him [by hand no less] and take him to the vet to make sure he's not carrying anything itchy or nasty...because he's my next pet, like it or not...but that's a long, long story involving...well...me and my nemesis...a frikkin' mouse. But he stands up on his hind legs before surveying the room he's about to scurry across. It's cute and bold, and he knows how to avoid traps that I've taken to springing just so they won't kill him. I've nearly caught him by hand three times. I need practice.) Anyway that mouse rant is totally unnecessary, but all of it is to say that I love this picture, and it underscores my understanding of having an animal nemesis.

They can be very camera shy. Great image and fantastic reflection. Did you do that little victory dance afterwards (I gotcha! Yeeesss!)?
