Description
The T.S.S. Midway is a Hastings-Class Battlecarrier. Designed to be a multi-purpose all-role commandship, the Hastings-Class vessels carry a wing of fighters, the firepower of a battleship and can transport an entire infantry company of colonial marines.
The largest, and most expensive warship in humanity's arsenal, only the Midway is operational when the war breaks out, and she is still undergoing her shakedown cruise. The lead ship of the class, the T.S.S. Hastings, vanished the first time the FTL drive was activated and was never seen again.
Two sister ships, the Trafalgar and the Marathon, are under construction. All Hastings-Class Battlecarriers are named after famous battles.
Here, the Midway is being escorted by two Firestorm-Class escort frigates and a patrol flight of Crossbow fighters.
This is a redesign of an older ship. New textures and a reworked, more detailed hull. You can see the original version of her way back in my older images.

Yes. Kali is Shiva's older sister. I'd like to do two stories...an epic war story with Kali in command of the Midway, and a series of stories about Shiva and the crew of the Hard Bargain, which is what I'm working on first. The Shiva stories, titled Freelancers, would be kind of Firefly meets Battlestar Galactica. The setting is a tramp freighter/courier ship and her crew, but in a very intense, escalating plotline about personal friendship and the evolution of mankind. The war stories with Kali and the Midway will also be a very tense storyline about how hard it is for an open and skeptical society to fight a no-holds-barred war...imagine what would happen if we had to fight all over again WWII with our current beliefs and morals about what you can and cannot do in warfare.
