Description

Looks better in full size. A friend recently challenged me to include my "little girl" in this image I made some months ago:

At first, I wasn't sure how I could do that because the original image was very "unreal" and my "little girl" is "real". Then I had the idea of creating a mirror somewhere in the scene, and the mirror would reflect the unreal as if it was real (the reflection would be real, I mean). I couldn't find a way to make it work like I had imagined so I dropped it (at least for now). Then I thought of having the unreal as the sky of the real (mirrored images too). That also didn't work quite right. Then I thought of a portal between the real and unreal versions of the scene. This is what worked best, I think, and so I kept it. This is not a part of my series "Days of Awe" with the little girl, it's a kind of a detour on her journey. Thanks for watching!

great render, one small thing that could be improved is add a realistic apple on the non realistic side so the non realistic child can taste it and vise versa, just my 2 cnts ;)

As if through a glass,darkly... Very imaginative look backwards and forwards, by looking sideways into where one world meets another. There are infinite universes, as quantum physics teaches us. Who's to say they can't meet somewhere...In Someone Else's Mind. Good job

Not bad at all! Yes, the realistic apple for the mirror image would have completed the scene, I agree. But this is still an excellent image! ^_~

Unusual, as art ought to be. Including the real and unreal in the same image enhances both. I see you as lucky that the boundaries between the two worlds are so well defined - my various worlds intermingle and the borders are very fuzzy. Thanks for sprinkling in images like these among your (beautiful) landscapes.
