Description

I kept looking at the model for this ship I'd posted before, and thinking that it needed something... "Ah, storage for life support and propellent?" came to mind, and thus more work ensued. Still, I think the added details do improve the model. To show off the thing I wanted a nice contrasting set of colors, so what better than the cold blue of a reflection nebula and the colors of a small icy world? Thanks for taking a look everyone, as before the model is entirely my own, all Bryce primitives, textures are mostly my own as well. The background and planet were all done in Photoshop. Enjoy your holiday if you live in the U.S.!

First off, I love this image. Second off, I'm love the accuracy you put into this whole thing...from the cold blue of the reflection nebula (most people won't even bother to call such a nebula by its proper name!) I love the details of the propellant and life support volatile tanks. This is an indication that this workhorse of a vessel will actually work and get you where you need to go with a minimum of that vague magic wand waving that happens too much in science fiction (usually to keep the action neatly placed between commercial or chapter breaks.) I've always been fascinated by the cultures that you imply in your work. You may drop hints here and there, but just in looking at your pieces of this nature, there's always a logic, a cultural imperative that simmers just below the surface. I find that to be woefully lacking in too many science fictional renders, which is probably why yours are among the very few that I consciously seek out here on Renderosity. This is wonderful work...and yeah...I have a LOT of catching up to do, but that's okay...it'll be fun dipping back into your gallery and seeing other gems for the first time. This is top notch work!

Yes, having some fuel and supplies makes a spaceflight much more enjoyable--not to mention less final!!! Heh! I truly like this render far and away over most of the others in this series. One of your more interesting looking worlds, too.

Nice added detail! Other things I always try to remember to add is some sort of thruster system and some airlocks.

With Zoom, I find a SPLENDID model of SciFi Space ship certainly very near of the reality...a big tube is the ordinary form of a space ship...SPLENDID creation§ I discover an excellent creator !!! I like your work Sir !!!
