Description

Bryce6.1/Photoshop/Photoscape3.3 I wanted to show more of a close-up front view of my Mayfly ship, but I needed something for interest in the scene.Since the design was inspired by Nature,I decided to take a cue from the natural world, and took the idea of small birds dive-bombing a larger intruder into their territory...it was also an excuse to bring back one of my first nature-inspired models, the dragonfly droid. Thus, the Mayfly is being attacked by a group of sentry droids as she enters restricted airspace. All ships created entirely in Bryce6.1,with most textures from cgtextures.com.Sky,light and atmo are custom...rendered in Premium setting.Postwork involved a slight levels adjustment and signature in Photoshop, and a frame in Photoscape. Thanks for taking the time to view and comment,it is much appreciated!

Both models are superb, and the lighting/atmosphere is perfect. Excellent work, Neil.

Very cool! Nice engine nacelle. Looks like she's being hounded by skeeters...

This is a very interesting craft. I like the way you have used the smaller craft to make the image more exciting. I would have loved to have seen one of the smaller defence craft slightly overlapping the intruder with maybe just a wingtip or a shadow to give the instant impression of size and depth - although you did a great job in achieving that with the atmosphere anyway. Great modeling and texturing.

Excellent modeling..very reminiscent of the ornithopter designs in Dune..organic forms being used as the basis for spacecraft.
