Description

Welcome, thanks for stopping in. With this 12:24 wide angle lens it is hard to gain a proper perspective of it's actual size. The amphitheater is easily 35 meters in diameter. The sand dune that has gathered from erosion is 5-6 meters in height. Now I have no formal Geological schooling, but it has been a hobby of mine for at least 20 years. Looking around the formation from top to bottom and front to back. I was unable to find any Temple Cap Stone as the rest of the tepees have. Therefore my speculation is that this must have been a large teepee that did not have said cap stone allowing it to be worn away a lot faster. Mother nature amazes me in so many ways. Even though it destroyed this teepee, in that destruction there was a creation that is even more dazzling to behold. Thanks for the wonderful comments on the last image. Also a kind thank you for those that added it as a favorite. Have a great weekend!!!

This is so cool! I can't believe all the patterns carved into the rocks. Did you run your fingers over them? I am amazed. I would love to go here someday!
