Description

We've had our first real taste of winter here in Southern California over the last few days - cold, windy and rainy. Being a basic weather wimp I needed some sunshine and this image of a hillside along a trail at the San Diego Wild Animal Park does the trick. Even though the SD Zoo and Wild Animal Park are known more for their work in breeding programs for endangered species, they also do a lot of work with plant life. This hillside is populated by a large variety of indigenous cacti and other plants. Great to look at on a rainy day. Enjoy.

Definitely does do the trick, indeed! Incredible atmosphere, and little bit of info on this place! It does seem so rich with natural plants and unique looking species! Superb lighting!! How I miss the sunshine! :)

This is wonderful. I remember camping in the American desert a few years ago and learning how old some of these old cacti were and how many years it took them just to sprout an arm etc. Amazing stuff.

That storm that got you cold gave us the blizzard. I'll trade you we got 14.4 inches of snow once it was done and now we are sub-zero temps. This is beautiful, great shot.
