Description
This image is dedicated to Lior (lior). He is a good friend, and one of the kindest people I have ever known. The other day he told me his sister Rivka had died, and asked if I would do a dedication for her. Rivka was a wonderful sister, and was very close to their Father. Rivka admired her Father and dreamed one day she would marry a man like him. Sadly their Father died many years ago, and more recently they lost their Mom. Now that Rivka is gone the memories of their family being together are even more precious to Lior. I want to share with my friends one of those memories he will always treasure.
Memories Of My Family (For lior): While growing up their family didn't have a lot of money, but they did have love. Lior and Rivka loved their parents, and had a great life when they were young. Their parents spent time with their children, playing with them every day. Often they would go onto the porch and just spend the day laughing and talking. Rivka would always be close to her Father, and he would tell her stories. Lior was close to his Mom, enjoying the stories too. It may have seemed simple, but it was a magical world on that porch. You might see Rivka letting the family dog lick a cupcake, as their Mom laughed and rocked in her chair. This is my humble attempt to capture one of those moments he described. This is the image I had in my mind of this wonderful little family that Lior remembers when they were truly happy and I know many of you who have lost family members can relate and think back too I hope. My prayers are with you during this time of great loss my friend.

Oh I love the dog and the cupcake! What a great story and a wonderful dedi to Lior! I am so sorry for the loss of his sister. As with all your works, your heart shines thru Dave, you have such a wonderful talent! Indeed this again reminds me of the story about my brother, simple but such awesome times spent with loved ones. It amazes me that your 'family' in each of your works is dressed as if you had been there, perfect!

Dave, this is such a lovely dedication to your friend, I am so sorry over the loss of his sister. Lior is a very kind person and a ownderful artist. But I've always been taken by his avatar. It reminds me of how fortunate I am to still have my sister (as well as my brother, mother and wife). Hopefully for a few more decades anyways. Take care.

Oh Dave, this just so exudes the love and joy this family felt for each other. It is a bittersweet image, remembering the joy that was. It is so beautifully done Dear Dave, you have put your heart into this for Lior. My condolences to him and his family, for this great loss. Family is the most important thing we have.

This is an image all the more beautiful for its simplicity. Some of the most meaningful times in our lives are those where nothing much is being done but love is abundant. My grandmother had a porch with a porch swing and on many a visit, my sister and I would idly swing and sing. These are very fond memories, though in truth, neither of us sang that well. There is much love in this image. I particularly like the way you use their hands to show the love being shared. Lior's mom lightly touching his hair. Rivka's hand over her father's which holds her safe, while his other hand caresses the dog. Beautifully done. Very nice words for your friend. He has my very deepest sympathy,
