Description

Welcome, thanks for stopping in. In the very far distance is Navajo Mountain. Home of Rainbow Bridge, this and the mountain are very much sacred ground. The White Cliffs set the closer background amongst the Paria-Vermilion Cliffs wilderness. There are a few wilderness boundaries adjacent to one another in this immediate area. The POV here makes the sand dune look so much smaller. Of course the 12:24 wide angle lens doesn't help ;~). In the shadow there is a spot of snow. It is barely the spring equinox and so the sun is still low in the southern sky unable to melt this little surviving patch. Guess it is a bit of a strange sight situated right next to a sand dune...lol. Had hiked with a couple local photographers that I meet at the BLM office when purchasing the wilderness permits. We could not resist the field goal jokes when taking some shots of the east portion of the amphitheater. Thanks for the kind comments on my last post. A kind thank you for those that added it as a favorite.
