Description
Captured back on 10/27/08, at the 7th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
My turn now to contribute to the realm of Extrude, made so famous by Andrea/durleybeachbum, our ingenious innovator of things unique, even bizarre.
This shot was taken at the same show as the Golden Knight pics that I posted over the last few days.
Looks awesome zoomed.
I chose the front view of an automobile -- this one customized -- for the Extrude filter, because it appears like the car is crashing through a large plate glass window, as is depicted in many exciting action movies. My other choice for Extrude was taillights, with all their neat textures, which I'll be posting later.
Top photo shows the block option of extrude, middle version shows the pyramid mode, and the bottom is the original, with the background gaussian blurred. I didn't want to make the pyramid units any larger, lest the automobile image itself be swallowed up and lost in oblivion.
I hope I'm wrong, but I have a gnawing feeling that Andrea is going to pick the original as her favorite.
Toodles, and thankx for taking time to check this out.

Wow, Harry. As a fellow-extruder, I like both the blocks and the triangles. Having the original is a great point of reference. After all, gotta start somewhere. I still think the biggest job in this process is finding the right picture...must be colorful and probably interesting in its own right before you pull it apart with the extruder. Bottom line, IMHO, A+, and a gold star for your forehead:-)))

Excellent!

Well, I like the original too, mostly because that eyeball is just way too cool, and I like the texture of the autobody. That said, I also like the extrudes, just because the shapes are so intriguing. Great work!

Of the two extrusions, I like the one with blocks best. The triangles look dangerous to me, and I'm getting out of the way now! LOL!

The top one is pretty cool but so is the original! I might just purchase this filter myself! :)

Superb, I love the original of course and the 'winged eyeball' grille treatment is just so right on this 50's custom. Great shot and post work, the top extrusion does it for me! P

I like the top one, no wait the bottom one, lol just like a woman huh?? actually they are all super cool, and that car almost looks like a big toy.. Happy Sunday evening to you..

These are all great! I like the top one. The little bit of mustard colored car seen through the window next to the stickers, looks like a guy in sunglasses. My play in extrude has all been very abstract, I'll have to try this out. Terrific images, Harry!
