Description

I'm BAAAAAAACCCK! Or didn't you notice that I've been gone? Captured 12/20/09, at the beautiful Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on the beautiful campus of California State University Long Beach in beautiful Long Beach, California. A ZOOM will exponentially increase your viewing pleasure. On my return to the fold, I decided to finally have some fun this time around, so I included a bit of whimsy in this presentation. Pics 1 and 3 are the distorted postworked versions; fotos 2 and 4 are the originals. The beautiful fish are making a fine recovery since the crippling and deadly Koi Herpes Virus disaster, and appear to be at about 50% strength in numbers. Took a total of 195 shots during this visit, so it'll be eons before I get them all posted. I figure over 40 five-foto collages will do the trick. I hope to return during the middle of the new year when there are more koi, with the little ones grown up, along with good shadows of them at the bottom of the lake due to a higher sun. Toodles, as always.

Of course we knew you were off sunning yourself in tropical places like Tahiti, Hawaii, Bermuda, the Bahamas...but we hoped you'd return sun tanned and refreshed. And here you are! Good on the having fun part. My favorite is the swirled one at the top. Koi swimming top speed, clockwise right? Well done...colorful, crisp, clear, all those things we've come to expect from you. Well done.

Oh, this is like a breath of fresh air!! At the moment our koi are under about three inches of ice, which will probably thicken as here in southern New Hampshire tonight the temps are supposed to go sub-zero. Sigh...we shall have to wait until late spring to see our koi again. Until then I shall have to enjoy the pictures you post!!! thanks for sharing them!!!

These are wonderful! The eyes in #2 are so clear, they remind me of the eyes on my teddy bear of long ago. I love their colors. #1 looks like a dizzying, Whirling Dervish Ceremony. #3 looks like they are trying to morph into salamanders. Excellent captures and postwork!
