Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Appears to be a paper crown...just can't tell from where:) That is allowing a family memory to be created. Superb. Children need to feel a part of all the festivities. And I like your available light photo. Very cool.

Aww, her Burger King crown! King of trees! Yes, it's all for the magic of children, isn't it?

Precious! We have the tradition that Werner always puts the Angel on top of the Christmas tree - probably because of his almost 7ft height! This year however, he picked Kayla up and for the first time she put the Angel up! Wonderful memories - just like this little girl! :)

Wonderful presentation, and certainly a beautiful story associated with it! There is nothing more special than allowing a child to feel a sense of significance and having the ability to express the self in creative and artistic ways; you can always tell so much from children, if only we listen (and watch) :) Definitely beautiful and inspiring!

And three wise men came from the east baring gifts of Gold, Frankensence and a Flame grilled Wopper meal! Lets 'go large' as it's Christmas and to drink..... it better be a Diet Coke please!!P

This is what Christmas is all about...well...that and baked carp that's been swimming in your bathtub over night only to be slaughtered on Christmas morning by a grumpy guy who wants nothing more than to do something other than kill the carp that the kids have grown attached too. Ugh...I spent too much time in the Czech Republic, eating Christmas Carp. But this picture feels the same way, only there Pavl isn't singing in Czech (and sounding strangely angelic for all of his atheistic eccentricities. He has perfect pitch.) I love this picture because it actually reminds me of Prague, washing windows with Pavl so that Baby Jesus would come and leave a gift. He left beer and a suspiciously Czech pack of cigarettes in my shoe. I think Pavl and Baby Jesus have a lot in common.) What I love about this photograph, aside from its emotional impact, is the fact that it makes me remember how touching a pack of cigarettes left in my shoe actually is! Thank you for making me recall that! And thank you for making me think, once again, about Pavl! It's the little things that make Christmas...including a cheap, cardboard crown!

How sweet ... that crown is fun! Not every image is about the photo quality.

That is the spirit of Christmas and the birth of a tradition. Someone has to make sure that this crown will be available next Christmas. I would even put a date inside of it. Special magical capture. Dana
