Oh, what a sad start to the year. 21 years is a long time for a cat. Having 6 cats (2 of them are 15) I know what comforting companions they can be. As someone who has tamed and found homes for many, many feral kittens I can also say that there are so many loving, furry creatures out there who would love to fill in for your dear Cleo once you are ready. I have had only maybe 3 years in my entire life that I didn't have a cat in the house and those who think they're not the best companions have never had a cat! Though none will ever take her place I do hope you'll find it in your heart to get another--once you've had one it's hard to be without one!

Oh Steve I am so sorry to hear that,They are a big part of our lives,We lost both our cats in the same year About 10 yeears ago.We have a beautiful black lab now she is about 4 years old and we love her dearly, My wife just said yesterday that she wanted to get another Kitty! I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am owned by 2 Cats and a dog and know how you must feel. Our beloved Tobi was put to sleep at the beginning of last year. You did the right thing for not letting her suffer even so it breaks your heart. This shows true friendship and compassion for your 4 legged companion.

Oh, she looks like such a sweetie--a good tortiseshell cat can be the sweetest friend! At least you had many good years with her--you must have taken super care of her!
