Description

Hello friends of RR! I wish you a wonderful new year, health, wealth and lots of love and fine friends. I hope you alived this seasonal days with its masses of good meals....uff! Lets say THANK YOU for all of you who followed me at my Scottish tour till today. Your comments were very helpful to complete this series and to make it as it is now. This pic has again a musical gift for you, a song in the old language of Scotland, in Gaelic, sung by lovely and often decorated folk singer JULIE FOWLIS, recorded in 2007 at the "Transatlantic Sessions" The title is: "OH NOBLE YOUTH WHO HAS LEFT ME" In scottish gaelic it sounds so: "Oganaich Uir A Rinn M´Fhagail" Any last request? No? Then LISTEN HERE.... Goodbye till tomorrow billcody

A great POV, my friend, and wonderfully desolate it is. As for Transatlantic Sessions, I just wish my reception of BBC 4 on Freeview was any good. I was recording it for a friend, but it deteriorated quite badly after they boosted that pesky Channel 5 television channel, that everyone else wanted.... The Sessions are so very enjoyable, probably because the artists are so very obviously having a great time, even if full of professional concentration, and the occasional golden jamming blend. I like the American, Jerry Douglas, I think it is, who plays his guitar horizontally, Aly Bain, Eddie Reader and Karen Matheson, of course, and the wee lassie who plays the harp. Warm regards, from an icebound Glasgow ( well everything on foot, outside the city centre ), but I am well informed that there is summer coming on June 23rd, so make sure that you are on holiday on that day, so that you can enjoy it ... ;O) , John.

You have captured the atmosphere of Glencoe so successfully with it's terrible history of massacre in the struggles of the clans. Mysterious and foreboding.

When I was a young thing of 16, my first trip overseas was to England and Scotland. We went to Glen Cloe. This image captures so well the magic of color and light that continually amazed me in the UK. The light is like a living thing. Not necessarily bright, but intense. It's hard for me to describe, but this image illustrates it beautifully. Excellent color and depth! Wonderful capture of the dark cloud coming over and touching the mountain. Absolutely stunning shot and terrific series on Scotland! Great link and music!
