Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

You are in your element and this photo speaks volumes about your love for the beach. Composition is so good.

I enjoy settling in on the sand in a patch of whatever is growing and feeling a part of the scene instead of a fixture on the beach. this is a very comfortable view for me...Great mood.

another inward, beautiful shot of this majestic ocean, simple & embraced by those big breaks in the clouds. Even in your simpler shots, you get the deep moods of this roaring water. It's like Yosemite was for Ansel Adams, or silhouetted peppers & nudes were for Edward Weston: You're just drawn back & back, always chronicling its endlessness & moods. I never tire of these captures...

This is gorgeous. I remember once, I was hanging out with this hippie-sort of girl and we'd go around picking blades of grass and putting them between the thumbs of both hands in a rather complicated way so that they were like reeds in some instrument, then we'd blow across them and cause them to make a kazoo-like sound. I think of that when I see this. Funny how that happens. As for something that actually has something to do with this image, I love the half-silhouette. The light coming through the clouds adds to the great sense of contrast and mood, and well...this is an excellent image.
