Description

Ok, some weeks ago, a very dear friend gave me a camera. And I went out & took pictures. And what did I get for my efforts? BLURS! I got BLURS! I got enough blurs to fill up an ocean! So Tara said: "May I make an 'image' from one of your blurs?" And I said: "If you're crazy enough!" And she did. And it was great! And it can be found here. (It's a lot better than the blur, believe me!) Then Helle said: "May I make an image from one of your blurs?" And I said: "You're all crazy! But Tara did & it was great: I'm sure you'll do the same!" So she did, and it was great. And hers can be found here... Then the two of them said: "May we ask a question?" "Yes?" I said. "It's your freakin' blur!!! Why don't you make an image out of it!" So, because I'm easily intimidated, I did. And it can be found here... (There's no link. This is the page, folks...)
* * * Ok! The blur's out my window. The rest? Photoshop. Have a great Thursday all! Mark

clapping my hands gleefully. Love the way this spun between the 3 of you. Each such a unique stamp put on the same image yet all combined. Truely a beginning for the New Year and all moving quickly!

That's it! I MUST have a go now! That second one is beyond imagination, not as much cerise as you usually give us, and almost an underwater image. Ooo! What fun, eh!

OH WOW !!! It is so darn amazing, what can be done with a blured photo, isnt it. Who ever DARE to throw out their blured shots ever again? Look at this and se if you dare. Mark all of them have their own beauties. But if I should choose, I would say number 3...and 4, ok number 5 has very exiting texture in between, But the first is still beautiful even though it is blured. It has these lovely city colors.....and I so like the isobars on the second. OH! The last one is so lovely and peaceful. What? Oh well. Not my fault I love them all. ;-)

What a fantastic visual treat! Of course it took me at least 20 minutes to get here...first back to Tara's shot where I had commented but of course had to read what everybody said once again. Then to Helle's shot. Hadn't commented but sure did today. Then reading your witty and downright funny intro to your piece today...OK, so it probably took me 30 minutes to get this far. And now I am burned out...nothing left to say about your blur and its' tremendously colorful variations. :-( Know I am only kidding. A new pattern just struck me and it has to do with the order, top to bottom, of the shots in your collage. We enter at a known though blurry point...we then venture through an amazing chain of experiences...and then we reemerge at a known point. How utterly cool...a trip (no not that kind), from start to finish. Fantastic.

and marilyn said: oh my fricken gosh---this is so good I hardly know where to start. blurs----you've turned them into so many things. the end of the world, the beginning, daybreak, sundown, all rolled into this amazing sequence of images. tara said: marilyn, do NOT delete anything. marilyn said (finally) ok i won't. now i know why!!!!

Gotta say Mark at first I was a bit worried as I just got home from the clinic and your image was one of the first for me to see so you can imagine my concern at the blur effects. lol Seriously they are all really cool and the blurring effects as well as mixture of light and color give them each their own personality

LOL a very amusing story of the origin of this one!I don't know whether there is some kind of moral teaching in that... anyway the artistic outcome is really fascinating!

I'm having a chuckle over all these blurs and it is amazing what you can come up with, with a touch of photoshop. It just shows me that I shouldn't throw anything out. You have proved it is not the destination but the journey that is interesting. A beautiful sequence of images.

Goodness, what hath thou wrought? There's a sign post up ahead....it's the Twilight Zone! What a dazzling melange of abstract colors and textures in these images, Mark! The camera can be a lethal weapon in the hands of an accomplished artist. With my acrophobia, this is exactly what I would see if I stepped out onto the top of a Chicago skyscraper. That, and a paralyzing, whirling terror.

This is so exciting! Not only because you've done something with that fabulous blurred image, but the WAY you've done it! Every frame increases the excitement I feel when viewing this ... it's palpable! FABULOUS work!! And then BAM! There's this calm water, this "shhhhhhhhh" thing, this intensely brilliant yet serene sunset ... WOW!!!

Oh my gosh!! I'm going to go through my files, I know I have some blurred photos! These are breathtaking, stunning, awesome, and oh so inspiring, from the first, original blurred photo, which I just love, to all the variants filled with color and shapes and suggestions of wondrous things! I love the very first one, it has a sense of wind roaring around the buildings, whipping coldness into every crack and crevice .. and then the excitement builds with each frame .. color pours in .. a feast for my eyes!! Who knew blurred photos could be so stunning? I had one that I had success with, and after that they just all turned out muddy and I gave up. You've inspired me to try again! I've gone and looked at both Helle's and Tara's versions .. you guys just have such vision!!

I went to both of the girls galleries and took a look and both have created amazing artwork our of your blurs dear Mark. Well guess what? ... you did the same here and gave it your own stamp as we say over here, all pics are incredible apart from the one on top which made my eyes hurt, but then you didn't promise it wouldn't. LOL. I just love your art, now who would of thought I would be saying that about abstract stuff?? You must be very special and of course enormously talented too dear friend. hugs Jane xx

Ok, so Chicago had a little earthquake which apparently opened up a wormhole into several alternate realities which you've captured very well. I see at the end you traveled over water (Lake Michigan?) and back through the wormhole. Stunning, the colors and filter work are outstanding. If I could learn to do this I would never have to throw away another photo.

Blurs can mean so many things - sadness (not much evidence of that here), laughter (plenty!), joy (yup!), infection with Kryptonite (possibly)... Great filter work, Mark - shows yet again what an artist you are...!
