Description
Captured 11/11/09, early in the morning, within the cloistered confines of my condominium complex.
A zoom will bring it up a bit.
Incidentally, the flowers on this particular variety are all red, and not the beautiful white and yellow kind with the red speckles. I've got many shots of those that will/should be posted, but I know not when.
Ta-ta, and thankx for popping in.

Excellent Harry. All our favorite trading words apply...sharp, crisp, clear. You've hit the nail on the head.

How wonderfully fresh! I just love the droplets glistening like jewels on the leaves! We had an obscene amount of rain the last 48 hours. I need to let water out my pool - it wants to overflow!

I think I've taken pictures of these at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, though without raindrops. Beautiful images! I think the first is my favorite. I love the way the main leaf seems to be sheltering the ones below, who seem to have led a somewhat harder existence. Also I like the yellow edged one in the back and the curled up one on the right. And the rain drops, shiny wetness and reflections are just gorgeous. Though perhaps the second one, with its strong lines and colors and its great sense of depth and beautiful raindrops...The last one too has much to recommend it. The light glistens and the raindrops seem to defy gravity as they cling to the leaf. All and all, you make it very hard for me to pick a favorite. Excellent shots, all!

Gorgeous! I remebered to bring mine into shelter before our snows, I hope they are safe

your recent shots have had a special sheen to them, like everything has been through a radiant shower of light & texture...very fine work, harry, I agree with what people have said here, and bill said it so well. These would all stand well alone too, though your sequence is fine as always. The sense of water-drops mixed with this "sheen", like the surfaces were coated with ice or a sheet of saran wrap, is a beautiful contrast; and the bend of the leaves is beautiful too, like they're bending over to greet us. Fine work all around. And congratulations on the rain. I didn't realize LA was that dry in winter. You need ice? Snow? I got plenty. And it's cheap too...free shipping & handling on the first 100 tons...
