Description
As our dear friend Martin (groegnitram) told us, our treasured friend & wonderful artist, Koosie--aka "koosievantutte"--had an operation this week & is now in recovery. I & everyone who knows Koosie want to send him & his wonderful wife, Karin, our very best wishes for a complete & speedy recovery. For those of you who don't know Koosie--lord, there is hardly an artist in my 60 years who loves art as much as this man, who encourages us to find quality in ourselves as consistently or with more gentleness, who's as full in his support, as gentle in his suggestions, and as funny, insightful & incredibly talented as Koosie. He has made me better in more ways than he knows, over & over again--just by being who he is. Koosie: Get well & come back soon! Karin: We wish you all the comfort in the world as you help your beloved Koosie heal. And I send my hugs to Kruimeltje too, their beloved dachshund. Beterschap, treasured friend! We look forward to your incomparable presence soon!

Get well, soon, Koosie! Much strength and healing for you and your family. Mark, I love the ink drawing and how it evolves into such a powerful bright burst of energy and color. You could easily be creating typography. This has a great style. What a wonderful and effective concept this has. Your style is as always enlightening as it comes straight from the heart.

Be well quickly, Koosie---you are missed!! And Mark, you did it again, gave us so many versions of one "simple" image. I get lost in all of them, and that is so much fun!! wow!!

What a lovely dedication! The progression is wonderful ... the bringing of light is such a great metaphor for a get-better-soon card. Beautiful work! Be well, Koosie, and take good care ... :)

Like the appearance of the original slowly transforming color-wise and melting into the light. Well done and healing to you Koosie.

Beautifully created and I like the journey you have made from the simple writing to the wonderful masterpiece at the bottom. A lovely work.

Capital bit of quasi doodling and color blends in this sequence of get well offerings, Mark. Never heard of Koosie, or his wife, but I wish him a complete and speedy recovery!

I agree with Tara and Bill. Beautiful transformation to the light. In the last image of Koosie's name, it looks like a magical city. It made me think of the City of Oz. Beautiful work and wish for Koosie to be better. Best wishes to Koosie and his family.

What gorgeous work! What a dedication as well! The whole process of transformation here is superb and I particularly like the sense of emerging light in this; what a wonderful metaphor and I'm glad to see it. The blues and intense whites are so perfectly balanced along with the light flares that imply motion. I'm not in a period of recovery (at least not from surgery) and I feel better just seeing it. In a sense this is an alchemical image...distilling light from something else. Wonderful! What a dedication, and it DOES express our hopes for a speedy recovery for a great artist here.

You've created another magical series, a light show, a colorfest, beautiful to behold! Receiving such a get well card would make me feel better immediately, so I hope that it works the same for Koosie ..

I think my doxies would be impressed with this. Well, Slinky would but Flirt is a bit more aloof. A wonderful get-well image and wish for Koosie. CC

Take one pen and ink drawing, filter it through a loving friendship, and call back in the morning. Nobody does transformation like you do, my friend. How can Koosie do anything but get better...???

mark, you know how i love typography - you did a great job on it and i love the variations - you are a master in kicking around images, changing them, playing with them and give them separate lives. yeah, i am late.
