Description


Taken in Cades Cove a part of the Great Smoky National Park, in Tennessee. How did the Great Smoky Mountains National Park get its name? The Smokies are named for the blue mist that always seems to hover around the peaks and valleys. The Cherokee Indians called them shaconage, (shah-con-ah-jey) or "place of the blue smoke". I tried to capture the blue mist or smoke of the mountains in this Autumn capture... Thanks to you all for your comments to my photo below.. thumb_2002717.jpg

Excellent result! The blue is definitely there. It is a beautiful tone that in no way detracts from the rich vibrant colors of Autumn. It has a wonderful atmosphere. Very nicely done!
