Description

These flamingos were looking fairly miserable - their heads turned into the wind. I have captured them in Walvis Bay, Namibia, in March 2009. Truthfully, I was shocked to see so few of them as I have seen this lagoon covered in flamingos years ago. I was told that the are migratory, so hopefully it was just the wrong season for them! I still do not have my Photoshop re-installed so I have to rely on previously worked images! Thank you for popping in and for your comments and favs om my Upside Down image! Stay well! Hugs Carin xx

WOW! I love this view. It's stark but beautiful and I love your control of the light here. I saw your Goose Photo before looking at this one, and when I saw the thumbnail I thought that the whole ancient Egyptian thing would carry through in a more literal way. I thought the flamingos were ibises of some sort, thus a reference to the god Thoth...he was the inventor of writing and mathematic and literacy in general, so naturally a writer would like him. :-) At any rate, whether flamingo or ibis, this is a wonderful shot and it's making a trip into my favorites even as I write this...sort of...I have to finish writing it before I can "favoritize" it.

Amazing shot, good composition! Got something alike by the ocean, but instead of flamingos, there's a car... :D
