Description
Mirror bright and shiny, captured back on 10/29/07, at the 6th Annual Wings Wheels Rotors & Expo, held at the beautiful Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Much better viewed full size.
Many variants were built of this aircraft, and the plane depicted above was just one of only ten C-40 models built for the military. Most other fotos I've seen of this ship show bullet-nose propeller spinners.
-----------
The Lockheed Model 12 Electra Junior, more commonly known as the Lockheed 12 or L-12, is an eight-seat, six-passenger all-metal twin-engine transport aircraft of the late 1930s designed for use by small airlines, companies, and wealthy private individuals. A scaled-down version of the Lockheed Model 10 Electra, the Lockheed 12 was not popular as an airliner but was widely used as a corporate and government transport. Several were also used for testing new aviation technologies.

Incidentally, the Lockheed Model 10 Electra mentioned above was the type aircraft the famed aviatrix, Amelia Earhart, was flying when she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean in July of 1937.
Adieu, and thanks for clicking on.

Wow, that's one shiny aircraft! Must have been a challenge to find a viewpoint that didn't blind you with the sun reflection...excellent shots, so clear you can read the numbers on the propellers! Well done!

Gorgeous reflections in that spit shined plane! Funny how time changes everything, my ex boss has a Lear jet for corporate travel. I wonder the change in price:-) Nicely captured Harry!

Wonderful reflections! The first picture has amazing reflections! Is that the terminal and tower on the engine? I love one of the people on the engine, which seems to be talking back to it's person. In the bottom left corner is a reflection, that seems very little distorted. I like the swirly clouds in the nose. On the second image, the reflections to the left of the propeller are intersting because you see mostly feet and shadow. I think I see you in the third one. Terrific capture of a lot of people. Love the streaking clouds. Excellent shots
