Description

Here you can see three representatives of the Police Municipale, Lyon's traffic wardens, and part of the lower portion of the trompe l'oeil known as La bibliothéque de la Cité, a huge murale on two facades and four floors on quai Saint Vincent. I'll show more of it in the next postings. The bicycles belong to the city and can be hired for a fee. Thank you for your kind comments.

Una splendida scena di vita ( in Italia sarebbero seduti in auto con l'autovelox ). Se quella e' una biblioteca e' proprio quella che fa per me: non rinuncio mai al caffe' .

That's a great looking mural! Hiring bicycles? They'd never get em back here, lol.

What a very cool shot on several levels. The local police have interesting shapes that caught my eye immediately. Then I spotted the bicycles which are very interesting and even "rentable." But the icing on this cake is the mural with the cute lil' doggy watching all of this. Superb!

This is quite an excellent photograph. The three municipal officers remind me of the ones I'd see every day in Prague, only they don't look as bored and surly--Czech Police (whether they're national police, municipal police, or traffic cops) all look incredibly bored in the Czech Republic, and they're not always the most friendly people to come across...I've actually heard them tell people "Go away" as those same people were asking for help. Ah...Central Europe! But this isn't Prague, and so these three are probably less bored with their jobs. I love the sense of motion you captured: they're still and yet their posture shows that they were moving at a pretty good speed--kind of a "casual fast" walking mode. The colors in this are astonishingly rich and this is most definitely a place I'd love to visit, or live in for a while! Great work!
