Description
Hi everyone. In December we had a large fire in my high rise. The floors above me were gutted. They've been rebuilding them ever since, 6 days a week. Since I work at home, everything has been turned upside down by the blasting noise. So it's been almost impossible for me to be here more than a little. But I'll be commenting this week. It will take me time, so if I don't get to you one day, I'll get to you the next. I've seen almost everything all of you have posted, I just don't know how to catch up on comments. But I'll comment on everyone this week, and I hope all of you are doing well...

Stunning beauty, the quiet reigns and alludes to spirit awakening mother earth with a beautiful array of color. I find it so odd that most people don't see the beauty, don't feel the spirit and don't listen to hear what lesson may be given to them. When I look at this, I don't see the buildings, I see what was before, the earth in all her glory, true spirit. The sunbursts tell me to look to the water, beautiful reflections that fade all to soon, lead my mind to that place where I can feel all the passion of spirit, where I can leave my troubled mind, where I can breathe in the essence of spirit that renews and lifts me. I listen as the water meets the sky in a perfect union, as they whisper a golden good morning to each other. I feel who I am in that quiet, I know I am a part of all that, I am the warm kiss of the sun, I am the blue of the sky, I am the gentle lapping waters, I am the clean scent of the snow...I am...you are...we all are a part of that incredible greeting...the spirit on a human journey, that soaks up every bit of that to carry with us for all time, and allows our spirit to soar. Amazing that you posted this as I was on a similar 'journey' this morning that I will share with you later. The image is awesome Mark, it touches deep inside, thank you for sharing it. I'm happy to see your return!

Simply put, a magnificent shot of a magnificent cityscape and shoreline, Mark! The lighting and textural effects are extraterrestrial (out of this world). Sorry about the fire and your living conditions. Arson, anyone? Reminiscent of the Great Chicago fire back in 1871 when Mrs O'Leary's cow kicked over the lantern. I was wondering what had happened to you. Hope you're well and getting back to norm.

Your Back!!! I missed looking for a few days .. and bam! you're back! Never mind catching up with comments, you've already looked, that's enough! And so sad to hear about all the mess and commotion, I hope they finish with it fast. I hope nothing was destroyed or ruined in your home. Bliss. This capture of Chicago's shoreline at dawn is pure bliss. I love the contrasts of lines and colors, the sense of a momentary lull in the city's noise captured forever, and the ethereal quality of it all. Sigh.

It is so wonderful to see you posting again! While I loved getting your comment on my sketch, you mustn't worry about commenting. When I stayed with my sister last (at her condo), they were doing work on her neighbors' bathroom. That was aggravating enough, I can't imagine what a whole set of floors would sound like! I love the color in this image! The way the dark blue of the sky fades slowly as it moves toward the horizon and then turns to a soft peach. The dark blues and blacks of the building, highlighted in warm orange by the sun. The soft pinks and blues of the snow with the curve of orange around the rim. Beautiful composition, lighting and reflections! Here's wishing you peace and quiet! Great to see you back!

What beautiful colours. Although I am not a big fan of big cities, your captures of Chicago show beauty one wouldn't associate with them. It seems like a bejewelled crown.
