She walks through the hallways of life, always hands outstretched toward her, asking for a donation of time and energy grasping for the last bits of love she has to give. Faces of people who want to use her for what ever sick pleasure comes to mind. It seems like every direction she turns, someone is standing there, ready to take from her. Ready to reach down into her very soul and grab the love inside her, pull it up out through her throat and laugh as it is pried from her mouth accompanied by a scream.... Everywhere she turns, theres a face, longing eyes, outstretched arms, palms up, waiting for a donation, or ready to pick her pockets, grab her ankles and trip her, slap her in the face as she passes, stick a kick me sign on her back, laugh at her failures, smile at her pain.... Or is that just how she views it? What if those outstretched arms are actually trying to comfort her? What if those hands reaching out arent really trying to take... but they are actually trying to GIVE? The faces that appear to be laughing at her pain, are really distorted into anguish crying WITH her in her torment? What of those hands she sees as trying to trip her? Maybe they are actually trying to pick her up and carry her along, so she wont have to walk alone? What if they are waiting to catch her if she falls down? When you think the world is out to get you, take from you your love and joy, you begin to think that even the ones who are trying to put a donation in your hat, are actually trying to steal from it. Or that in order for them to really want to just help, dont require you to earn your prize, by dancing a dance they know you dont want to. Its hard to tell the difference..... Isnt it.
