Description
Again the public garden at the Musée des Beaux Artes in Lyon. In the foreground the bronze called 'Adam' or 'The Shadow' (1902) by Auguste Rodin.In the background the more academic Flute Player and Child Giotto by other French sculptors.
The suffering figure of The Shadow is partly inspired by the shadowy sinners in Dante's Inferno as well as by the last Michelangelo's style. The other two figures also seem a bit blue. They're apt to sum up the ice-cold, razor-sharp wind called 'bora' in Northeastern Italy, which has been freezing our faces since yesterday, and at the moment is violently shaking my shutters.
