Description

Well - seeing that I posted "Nothing" yesterday, I decided I better post "Something" today! *grin* This image was shot on the same trip as yesterday's post, just much earlier in the day! We stopped by this abandoned rosequartz mine about 15km from the coastline. (as the crow flies) I was gobsmacked! There are just these mountains of rosequartz just lying everywhere! Boulders, rocks and pebbles - all beautifully pink. It was quite a climb to the top of this quartz 'mountain' but it was so worth it. The view from there was spectacular. You can see a thin line of the Atlantic in the distance and the ever present fog bank of course! An experience that you will never really appreciate until you walk around on the stuff! Dana and Usanomad will appreciate this!! Enjoy guys, I actually thought of you when I walked around there! Thank you for your valued comments and favs on my "Nothing" of yesterday! Have a great weekend! Hugs Carin xx Oh - the black on the one rock is lichen! I captured a close-up which I will post later!

Dana and Usanomad aren't the only ones who would appreciate a rose quartz mountain. Quartz crystals play a large part in my substantial gemstone collection and this place looks very interesting. I even know where there is a 1.6 metre high and 1.2m wide rose quartz crystal but I can't afford it or the freight to get it home from Brasil lol.
