Mildred looked at herself again in the mirror, the same mirror her husband gave her when they were newlyweds. She did not see the reflection of a woman with an old, wrinkled face. Instead she saw the memories of the past, although hiding from the shadows of time, they're still loud and clear in her mind. Her children now grown, seven grandchildren, the man she shared those fruitful years with, passed away a decade ago... all she has now are the lingering thoughts of yesteryears, to look back and wait when her time comes. She knew there will be more time to share with her family, more hugs to give to her grandchildren and plenty of moments to enjoy.

Although her neck doesn't show much wrinkles, it's still an amazing texture. This is a tribute to my mom, her birthday this month. When my dad passed away years ago, she bravely faced her fears and sacrificed a lot for us. A wonderful woman, a great friend and adviser and always there to lend a helping hand with her words of wisdom.

Thanks so much, Lou. My mom is actually older than the lady pictured here. When I look at her now and see all the frailty of old age, I still see the strong woman whom I owe a lot from, I won't be where I am now without her. If only I could do more for her, but I only hope that she will live longer so we can still enjoy precious times together. This is also dedicated to those whom at this stage of life we see our parent/parents suffering from an illness. My prayers are with them.

This is a beautiful and touching tribute to your mom, and to all of those looking back fondly on thier younger years. Truly, you don't have to be 'young' in years to be beautiful. With two elderly single parents (her mom, my dad, 79 and 91 respectively) to look after, it is truly a meaningful post. Seeing the strength they both display after the loss of thier spouses, and both dealing with cancer, it brings me to tears sometimes. Thanks for the wonderful dedication, Jenny!

A magnificent render and dedication! I can still recall the fading moments of both my parents in their declining years. We had many happy times over the years and I cherish those as well. And now, as I approach my own declining years and think what my parents went through at the end, I have to say I am not at all optimist for my own future. But thank you for sharing your thoughts and memories! Life affects everyone differently!
