Description

Dear friends, I am back from a long journey... I was sick and then I had a long and deep depression, it seems. Now I am on a better way, I hope. My first greetings to all of those of you, who e-mailed me in the last weeks and sent comments, some of you sent a lot) and this greetings here are especially for you! In the next days I will go in into your pics and have a loooong, looong look. I hope you accept. Taking this pic I had to wait 15 minutes to catch some cars together, what a paradise! Hope you enjoy it... Dear friends, normally I try to link a scottish traditional music clip here to add a new dimension of this beautiful land. So I will do today: Today I present a very old song, sung by CATHRINE-ANN MacPHEE and played with a celtic harp. Cathrine-Ann was born at the Hebridean isle of Barra and grew up without electricity till she was eight...The family and friends held their musical meetings by candlelight. Electricity came to Barra at first in 1959....unbelievable! Cathrine-Ann`s singing and especially the celtic harp creates a very old-fashioned style of music; it is pure traditional without modern style elements. The Scottish trads music scene explodes in our days and the gaelic language has a renaissance - but the celtic harp is a very rare instrument till today..... The songtitle is "Canan Nan Gaidhel" what means "The Language of the Gaels". It is a flaming confession to the old language of Scotland, and I linked it in a more modern version some pics earlier... And now: Please listen to "THE LANGUAGE OF THE GAELS" (Canan Nan Gaidhel), sung by CATHRINE-ANN MacPHEE..... LISTEN HERE copyright:MagnvsLatvala Thanks for your interest and your comments! Greetings from Berlin! Edit: Sorry, the link didn`t work: i hope I`ve got the missing link now....
