Description
Captured 3/20/10, very early in the AM, about one half mile from my semidomesticated dwelling.
Check it out full size for better detail.
On discovering, in my usual belated roundabout way (i.e., nobody told me beforehand), that Mark had added another year to his talented existence on this mortal coil, I proceeded rapidly to devise this greeting in honor of the memorable event.
Hope you had/have a good one, my friend!
Toodles, and you know the rest.

Don't feel bad, Harry, I didn't know either... But this is a great shot for Mark's dedication, the tracery of branches against the sky is lovely. Well done!

Lol, Denise...Harry, I didn't tell anyone, I mean a soul, lol. With the craziness going on in my apt, etc, I almost forgot about it myself. Just know that your always being in my gallery no matter when I'm here, and your constantly supportive & penetrating comments & overall support are gift enough for anyone in this 'mortal coil'. And here, you've posted one of the trees that you know I've loved in your gallery. And I should say, it's not so much the tree as your capture of it. You have enough light that we see the spindly branches & a little of their texture. But---as such trees demand of all good photographers---you've made it 2/3 silhouette, so we see what a sinewy tangled beauty this creature is, including those beautiful tiny leaves growing off the edges. These trees are almost 'made' for dawn, and that's just how you captured them. (Besides, iit's good to know that someone else is getting up way too early to capture their neighborhood!) Thank you so much, Harry; I remember your last year's gift ("master of the abstract") where you nailed my style: The fact that you did one this year, with one of my favorite trees, is all the more special. Many thanks, my friend, you could be a month late & I wouldn't care: I appreciate your effort whenever. Thanks for your wonderful gift!

This is a perfect shot for Mark and a great birthday dedication! Like many, I often miss birthdays as well: including my own! It's just one of those things. This is a great shot, I really love the contrasts and the bare-branch patterns. Super.

Fascinating capture and as I see Mark did not get upset on the slight late birthday wish. According to the myth, before and after 1 week of the day is count as a wish so you in. After that you late, try next year...lol.

Inspirational sunrise and birthday dedi. Well done shooting into the sunrise. 2,500 miles east of your semidomesticated dwelling. :>) Dana

Excellent capture! I love the knobbly look of the branches with the delicate branches and leaves at the ends looking like lace trimming! Wonderful lighting and dedi! Happy Birthday, Mark!
