I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

This is lovely; on the surface it might seem desolate, but it's so much the perfect representation of a desert...very very beautiful!

Barbara - those tracks are actually jackal footprints and not tyre tracks! This area was wonderfully "clean" of 4X4 tracks!

A wonderful almost pastel landscape!

Desert jackals? It never ceases to amaze me how tenacious life is. This is a wonderful image showing how life survives near the coastal fog and how barren it becomes further out. I remember seeing a docutmentary on Etosha and how quickly life rebounded when it rained.

Capital capture of the intriguing dunes and flora of the Namib, Carin! Besides the wonderful foreground, I also like the low hanging fog in the distance, which gives a fantasy effect. I can tell by your narrative you were completely enraptured by the captivating environs of the area.

Awesome view... yep, I guess it's pretty easy to get lost over there!

I love looking at the shapes, the swells of sand, the tracks, the vegetation. There's something fascinating about looking back and forth, around and around, and this mesmerizing landscape. Beautiful!

Fascinating Carin...think of how long this terrain has been like this...shifting, shifting, shifting, yet staying the same.
