Description

hello and welcome. thank you for taking the time to look at my work, and a double thanks to those who take the time to comment. since i have been thinking about selling some of these as finished sets, i decided to try to finish off a piece before posting. this was started some time ago, so i'm not sure if it will work as a clothing set, or if this will all be too high in polygon count. i'll have to see. everything was UV mapped already, so all i needed to do was add some pieces. i made the rope belt (which isn't mapped right now), the shoes (which are), and the cloak (which is as well). the main lesson i learned with this piece was how important understanding measurements is to making clothing. this started as an attempt at a greek tunic, but the tunic was too long and didn't gather enough. it reminded me more of a sort of medieval/renaissance tunic, so i added leggings. this was before my manly cup, so he looks like a Ken doll underneath the clothes. i might be able to later, but first i have to find out whether they work in Poser at all. i have a few random ideas about how to make the shoes work in Poser, but i all i can guarantee now is that they won't be conforming. i most want to please myself and i _hate_ conforming shoes. they kill the ability to scale the legs, which i feel is important in creating truly different characters. i love anything that gives me the ability to change basic proportions. oh, and that's M4 is under there.

I thought you couldn't scale conforming shoes either, but on ElorOnceDark's Woodgod boots, Rain's got the Long Legs morph (which is just a y scale thing) and I conformed the boots, and of course they broke..and I took the y scale dial and cranked it up, and tada the boots fit! I love those boots you made..the whole outfit is awesome, but the boots are teh best;)

Really looks like an outstanding start to the costume! Really love the cloak! Looking forward to seeing how this turns out. It's nice to see some 'proper' medieval clothing for M4. I know I'll certainly be keeping an eye on this one. Nicely done though!

It looks very impressive. It's dynamic isn't it? Folds, and creases in belly area look fantastic. I think you should consider adding a hood to a cloak (not sure how difficult it would be) - it would give more versatility to this outfit. I look forward to see it textured. Good luck! :)
