Description

Here's a quick post for tonight.... These sunny fellows live in my backyard, right next to the downspout drain. Every spring, after a few days of mild weather, these guys arise to announce the long awaited arrival of spring. They revel in the sunlight, silently trumpeting the time when all green and blooming things will awake from thier winter slumber. After a few days, they return to thier own sleep, thier jobs done for another year. In looking at this, I probably should have taken it more from the front of the blooms, but I wanted to capture the sunlight coming through the yellow blossoms. Thank you to all my friends here on Rendo for your kind words, thoughts and prayers for my father's health issues. I am happy to report that his tests all came out fine, and no serious problems were found. He was released from the hospital this afternoon, and is doing fine. He was quite pleased to learn he had well-wishes coming in from all over the world. You all are awesome! I hope everyone has a wondeful Easter weekend, and a fantastic spring! I hope to get back to doing some new artwork soon! Thanks for all your views, comments, ratings and favorites! They are deeply appreciated!!

Nothing growing by my downspouts yet...but the grass looks suddenly quite green. That'll make the teenager next door happy since that provides her summer employment. Your bright yellow daffodils (that's what they are right?) look great...like the background blur...makes the blooms pop nicely. Happy 1st and Easter to you Rod.

If anything HAD been growing next to a downspout here in NH, it's gone now!! We've had wicked rain these past few days and there is flooding everywhere...but fortunately we didn't get it as bad as Rhode Island!! I haven't seen any spring flowers around here yet...but with the sun that's supposed to arrive today, tomorrow and over the weekend and with temps in the 70's, we should see some soon! Glad that things worked out for your dad and that he's out of the hospital!

WOW! Beautiful lighting Rod and brilliant color. Thanks for the little vision of spring. A shame these beauties don't bloom longer eh? Again, glad to hear all is well with your dad and that your mom-in-law is feeling better too.

That's a good way to kick off the spring holidays - with some good news for a change. I think the shot is pretty cool as is and would not have looked so sprightly had the sun been behind your back. Art, and life, is a series of compromises; nothing is perfect, just better than what it could have been. Or not :-0
