Description

Hello and good evening, friends! At first a big and loud "Thank You" for your interest and your comments for my last pic, and a special "Thanks" for those, who took my last one here as their favorites. The scene here above was taken at 6th August 2009, our second day of our Scotland trip. Loch Leven is a small bay and has salty water and a tidal amplitude; far away you can see a street bridge, spanning across a narrow sound. Hope you enjoy it. And lets enjoy once again a piece of traditional scottish music, today the "magic of the pipes" In the early days of Scottish history every clan chief had a piper and a bard, and both of them were important and well respected. The bard gave the orders of the chief to the clanmen, and the piper gave the "watchout" signal at the beginning. In normal times piper and bard had to amuse the clan chief and his household/ guests with music and storytelling. Translated in modern times it means: The speaker of a News Channel of today has the function of the ancient bard, and the TV channel`s melody has the function of the piper.... To be a piper is a very honorful and well respected function till today; please think at the proud pipers of Scottish military bands all over the world! Playing a bagpipe is a hard job, and the "magic of the pipes" only works, when the bagpipe is played exactly and clean. A learning lession and a dirty playing is an acoustic torture! Let me introduce Mr. ALLAN McDONALD and his brother, IAIN McDONALD, both of them famous pipers and whistle players, and a bunch of comrades. The imagination of the old days awakes for some minutes when Allan stands in front of his comrades like a statue, while his brother Iain playing the queer flute together with the others..... They play and old traditional song, "Cumha Dhonnchaidh Mhicrath" - translated in English "THE MARCH OF THE KINGS OF LAOIS" Please enjoy ALLAN McDONALD and friends Clip was produced in 2005 for the BBC TV Series "Highland Sessions" and was recorded at Strathgarry House in Killiecrankie Copyright: TG4gaeilge, Thanks I hope you enjoy pic and music clip. Please feel free to give comments, both way, everything is welcome. But must important: Enjoy! This is my gift for the EASTER DAYS for you all. Tommorrow we start a short vacation for some day. Feel free to look in, give a comment, both direction is welcome, and, I hope, enjoy! HAVE SOME FINE EASTER DAYS!

Beautiful Wolfgang. You capture the tranquility perfectly. This would be a very good vacation spot to relax 'and get away from it all'.
