Description

Environmental concept. The aim was to generate a sky that made it look as if a major event was occuring in the atmosphere, but the image would still possess a peaceful calm embodied by a single tree. To set the tone of this image I started designing it with very little light, and with dramatic, layered cloud design. Then worked the light in slowly, and just enough to make out the seperation of land and water. It has the overtones of a Chinese watercolor painting where the focus is on the essence of the landscape structure and not wholeness of the scene. Those works too will always carry elements of contrast and you embody that in your work. Congrats on the recognition for a finely crafted piece.
