Dear friends. Thank you so much for your wonderful show of support on my last image "Forgive me Father." That image was made right from my heart and I was very moved by how it touched so many of you. Thank you for the many beautiful comments, faves, and even just for dropping in to have a look.
I follow up with "Saying Goodbye." It was hard to make an image to come even close to what I felt for "Forgive me Father" and I have no words to say that could come close to those that I wrote then, but hopefully they will be enough for both. I was trying too hard to make this image work, and after days of struggle I was almost ready to trash it. But then I just let go of my intentions, simplified the render, and let it be what it was telling me it wanted to be.
Letting go and saying goodbye; how often do we push these essential processes aside and live in denial of what has happened? But does it do us any good?... not for very long. Growth, and life itself, demands that we accept our losses. We grieve, we are miserable, but then we must move on.
What is lost to us now simply joins the never ending process of energy flow that permeates the universe. We materialize out of that energy flow for a while, live what we call life, die, and then we become part of the big cosmic flow again. It is not an end, nor a beginning, it just is.

I will be away on business for a week starting this Sunday and I will not be taking a laptop so I will be out of touch and not commenting but I will be thinking of you and I promise to try and catch up when I get back.
So I too say goodbye -for now- but unlike our fallen father heros - I will be back.

I got such a fright when I saw the title:-)Thank goodness it was only the title of the image and not a real goodbye! Wonderful image filled with emotion, I can feel how much for yourself went into its creation.Beautiful words that went straight to my heart (Hug) Take care and we will 'see' you soon.

Roxy this is one of those times when the fewer words said the better. Your image is beautiful with a sad tone running through it that grips you. Letting go and saying goodbye to someone who was so dear to us is the hardest thing we will ever do and something we'll never get used to no matter our age. Your in my thoughts and prayers.

Sometimes saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do, but we do need to take a break for a moment to take care of other things. So we close by saying "I'll see you again." I felt a tremendous emotion while reading this, I could feel what you feel and for you to share this with a beautiful image is just like going in depth with your current situation. We'll be here, Roxy, waiting for you... until you come back.

Very often the results from such creative surrender over time become our favorite and inspiring works. In a similar manner the events in life beyond our control, when surrendered to, often evolve to be recognized as the most significant and transformative "turnings" along our journey. Dear Roxy, I think the reason these last two images of your are two of your best ever is BECAUSE you let go and let the emotion move you. I think the best art is really inspired and not forced. The posing and emotion in this is wonderful. I am two days away from the 1 year anniversary of the death of a VERY close friend of mine. I was gifted with her presence and friendship for 9 short years and she touched me deeply. I will never be able to replace her nor forget her unconditional friendship. Thank you for this lovely image and beautiful thoughts. Safe journeys to you.
