Description

Please view full size for full atmospherics. Dear friends. Thank you so much for your wonderful show of support on my last image "Forgive me Father." That image was made right from my heart and I was very moved by how it touched so many of you. Thank you for the many beautiful comments, faves, and even just for dropping in to have a look. I follow up with "Saying Goodbye." It was hard to make an image to come even close to what I felt for "Forgive me Father" and I have no words to say that could come close to those that I wrote then, but hopefully they will be enough for both. I was trying too hard to make this image work, and after days of struggle I was almost ready to trash it. But then I just let go of my intentions, simplified the render, and let it be what it was telling me it wanted to be. Letting go and saying goodbye; how often do we push these essential processes aside and live in denial of what has happened? But does it do us any good?... not for very long. Growth, and life itself, demands that we accept our losses. We grieve, we are miserable, but then we must move on. What is lost to us now simply joins the never ending process of energy flow that permeates the universe. We materialize out of that energy flow for a while, live what we call life, die, and then we become part of the big cosmic flow again. It is not an end, nor a beginning, it just is. --------------------------- I will be away on business for a week starting this Sunday and I will not be taking a laptop so I will be out of touch and not commenting but I will be thinking of you and I promise to try and catch up when I get back. So I too say goodbye -for now- but unlike our fallen father heros - I will be back. Blessed Be Previous

It is always hard to say goodbye to a father or fallen comrade. The first is just as painful as the last and they get any easier. Ultimately humans are imortal to an extent, we live on in the memories and thoughts of those left behind, and when it is my turn I hope that I have someone like you that can pass on my adventures and stories to others.

I can't tell you how relieved I am that your leaving will only be temporary. I have really enjoyed the pictures and stories you've shared with us over the last couple years. My heart goes out to you and your family during your time of loss, and I hope that time will help to heal all wounds. As usual, a beautiful image.

Another one with strong emotion. A bit more contemplative it seems. It is good to give such intense emotions space and time and a way to express themselves. That is part of the healing process. Hugs Ash

"Sometimes the one who is running from the Life/Death/Life nature insists on thinking of love as a boon only. Yet love in its fullest form is a series of deaths and rebirths. We let go of one phase, one aspect of love, and enter another. Passion dies and is brought back. Pain is chased away and surfaces another time. To love means to embrace and at the same time to withstand many endings, and many many beginnings- all in the same relationship." — Clarissa Pinkola Estés Fantastic image. Evokes much emotion. Than you for sharing it.

Hamlet: o be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep; Shakespeare would have loved 3D I am sure. I will not delve into the more than obvious quality of the image..Suffice to say it's good...it's more than good. What does strike me above and beyond that is how you strengthened.. nay fortified the inner meaning of it by a very stunning use of edgetechniques. Almost as if it's hammered into stone to last forever. As it should. Thank you for this gift
