Description

Captured 4/9/10, very early in the morning, about .20 of a mile from my petulant pad. A ZOOM view would be most helpful. The city has been busy installing these nonslip metal gratings at every sloped corner, which is fine with me because I now have the opportunity to take more pics of them, with their neato patterns and textures, from every conceivable angle, except up. I just set the camera down along side the grating, click, and hope for the best. And, I am on my knees and not on my stomach/tummy during this procedure. Leaving nothing to chance, I even use a small whisk broom to brush away any debris before taking the pic. The gratings are best to capture in the early AM or late afternoon when the shadows are long. Needless to say, I get a lot of curious stares from drivers, passengers and pedestrians during this endeavor. Toodles, thankx for popping in, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

Most unusual pic and I applaud you for your efforts. Sometimes the fear of looking odd keeps me from taking pics.

Oh yes - how wonderful! When I looked at it I though it was one of those 'flat on your tummy' shots! Very inventive plan that you have made here Harry! I can imagine the stares... LOL...

This one had me fooled Harry. Had no idea what I was opening. I agree with the cool petterns and textures and you caught some real fine lighting. Dana

We have these here too, at corners and crosswalks; they do look odd, and this is a great POV and shot of one! I'd not considered doing this, excellent idea!

Hello Harry! About time I got here huh???:-) This would have killed my knees so I applaud your efforts and its a great abstract image I think. Great interest between the bumps and lines and that lovely sun shining bright on the walkway. Great stuff!!!

This is cool! Excellent perspective! It made me think of some of MagikUnicorn's Bryce images. I love the textures and lines. I've been doing some of that putting the camera on or near the ground lately too. It's fun to see what comes out. I love the freedom that digital gives you to take shot after shot. Wonderful image!
