Description

Taken at Boeing's Museum of Flight in the old Red Barn. This would have been a Boeing executive's office a hundred years ago. The day we were there just happened to provide some lovely light on this old wooden building and its contents. Can you imagine sitting at that desk and actually producing meaningful work?

'Can you imagine sitting at that desk and actually producing meaningful work'? I think you mean because it is so beautiful. People may also read this as you would prefer it modernized. This is much nicer than any office I have ever had, so I could move into it tomorrow! Not that I ever want to tied down in an office ever again! Thanks for posting this Tara.

A candlestick phone, a gooseneck lamp and an old Burroughs adding or calculating machine. The height of communications, lighting and automation at the time. This was as good as it got all the way up into "modern times" of the 1940s/1950s or so. Fine composition and a crispness to your image we would all love to have.

What a great place to sit..I'd soon mess that surface up, safe in the knowledge that a tidy desk is the sign of an arid mind (hehe!) A beautiful picture.

Well, I wouldnt get much done as, I would sit and look out of the window all day, bur apart from the old phone and calculator, it doesnt look much different from the old furniture we had in the costum office :-)

That light does give this such warmth, depth and invitation to sit down and muse. Excellent!

I can easily imagine getting a lot of work done, and I also see alot of times staring out the window watching the planes fly by! Today's office is too sterile and has too many distraction

I want one of these desks! I want a writing photo-posting office that looks like that (with cats wandering around) and an occasional Russian popping in to ask when I'm gonna be done so we can do whatever it is we'd do. Ah...I love it when an image makes my mind wander like this one does. I love the way the surfaces shine here, the way that old fashioned telephone just stands there like some bizarre sentinel! This whole image is simply alive and intriguing!
