Description
Some of my favored shots come by mere chance: I was taking a shot of the building in the background, the Rudolfinum Concert Hall in Jan Palach's Square in Prague, when a clanking streetcar ambushed me from the back. I like its quaint aspect (it belongs to the old generation, which is being replaced by newer, less noisy streetcars), and the gaudy advertisement. In the end, far from spoiling a (rather conservative) shot, I believe that the unexpected entrance of the streetcar has added some pepper to the POV! Do you agree?
The Rudolfinum Concert Hall in Prague is located alongside the river, and is the second most significant Neo-Renaissance structure in Prague, after the National Theatre. The Rudolfinum was built between 1876-1884. In the early 20th century, it played an important role in the development of Czechoslovakia, with the seat of the state parliament sited here between the two world wars. Today, the Rudolfinum is home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra.
Thank you for your kind comments.

Excellent capture. If you hadn't told us about it, I would have assumed that you took the shot of the streetcar, as such, on purpose!

Very good reflex to display the photo of the building with this train of old trams ... certainly an implicit requirement to photograph the tramway immeubel seat where the orchestra in Prague! (Smilies)

I like the 3D aspect you add to your presentation - Like yourself I to feel it adds to the realism of the image - Were as the purist may not agree - In this particular image it works especially well - bringing out all of the texture of the various components in the image - also the color just enough to restore the energy and life mood without destroying the believability of the scene - Or maybe I should just have said - Wonderful great photo picture stuff :) - Happy photograhing !!

I like the noisy trams better than the newer, bullet-train rocket-trams that are beginning to replace them. Oh, those bullet-train rocket trams are swanky, but they lack the old-world charm, though they do still have those old fashioned bells on them! Funny! This is a stunning shot. The Rudolphium is one of my favorite places in Prague and though I never got to hear the orchestra playing there, I have a number of recordings! YAY! This shot screams Prague, the only thing missing is yet another tram heading the other way, advertising "Koffola" complete with Raggae music blaring and the "Koffola Girls" getting off at each stop and distributing samples of the drink. It's the old Communist answer to Coka Cola and English speaking expatriates in Prague call it "Communist Cola." It's an acquired taste, but once you've sampled it, you're hooked. Anyway, I'm rambling...this is a marvelous shot that captures the sometimes gaudy life of Prague. It's such a diverse city, so full of color, and it's good to see one of these old beauties trundling along, full of whatever advertisements have been scrawled all over it. This is marvelous, and yes...seeing this makes me as homesick as the other Prague images you've been posting! As an aside question, was that tram actually making passenger stops? The number placard in the window is yellow, which means it's a night tram, but it's obviously not night. Just wondering.
